Fashion Friday: Greenery With Envy

Hi friends!

Long time no see, I know. School hit me hard post Thanksgiving break and I found myself in a pile of  school work. I never want to see astronomy again to say the least.🙄

For those of you who do not keep up with the fashion world (wyd), Pantone recently announced the color of 2017: Greenery. I know what you're thinking "what the heck is a Pantone and what type of name for a color is Greenery?" I am here to answer both of those questions.

Pantone, according to their website, is a "world-renowned authority on color and provider of color systems and leading technology for the selection and accurate communication of color across a variety of industries". In lamest terms, they're almost like a universal color index. Any color can be found on the Pantone website and some have super cheeky names. Each year they do a Color of the Year, announced late in the year before. I've been following Pantone's Color of the Year with my mom for as long as I can remember. I even have a phone case from them and have previously had a coffee tumbler by them as well.

"A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.

Greenery is described as "refreshing" and the "symbol of new beginnings", which after a rough 2016 I think is much needed. Gucci and Lacoste were already on the trend as they had the color in their S/S 2017 collections.

Gucci S/S 2017

Lacoste S/S 2017

The color immediately reminds me of when I was in the fifth grade and my drama club put on a production of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and we all had these kelly green shirts that sort of look like Greenery. So, to be sure you don't look like a Grinch I found some items that you can already start to incorporate into your wardrobe. Take on 2017 and the Color of the Year head first and leave others Greenery with envy.😉

Disclaimer: Not all the items are exactly the shade of Greenery, but I tried my hardest to find the exact color!

(this one's nice if you don't want to wear green alone or prefer prints)

If green is simply not your color don't worry, Pantone also has their top ten colors for Spring 2017 here.

How do you feel about the 2017 Color of the Year???

Ciao for now!
